The Conquistadors who came from Spain introduced Christianity in the 16th century. During the centuries that follow, millions of Roman Catholics from Spain and Italy form a strong church in Argentina.
Nowadays about 50% of the Catholics in the country go to church regularly, while the rest only go on special occasions, for weddings, baptisms, and first communions.
