Getting Visas to Bosnia and Herzegovina

Those citizens who are on transit and just continuing there journey to a third country doesn’t need a visa provided that they hold their onward tickets and documentation. However, a visa is required to all citizens who are planning to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina for more than 3 months. All citizens are required to have a passport valid for 6 months upon entry to the country. The consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina requires that all applicants applying to visit the country and appear for a personal interview. Those who want to reside in the country must submit a police certificate indicating that the applicant has no criminal record. If you are planning a visit with a relative or a friend, you must have a notarized letter of invitation from the inviting party.

A letter from the employer stating the purpose of the trip is needed if you are traveling on business. It also needed a notarized letter of invitation from a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, Bosnia & Herzegovina does not recognize passports which has a red cover issued by the Former Yugoslav Federation Republic (Serbia & Montenegro).
