Founded some thirty years ago, when many University Faculties were facing a critical moment, the "College" chose to swim against the stream and to apply a solid academic structure. Its objective was to follow in the foosteps of the foremost models of the past - such as the Bauhaus of Weimar and Dessau - and it provided itself with an organisation similar to that English and American University Colleges, stressing rigour and didactic flexibility, selection and strictly limited number of students.
Rigour. Theoretical and pratical teaching, with experience in the laboratory. Renowned teachers active in the professional world and sector leaders.
Selection. A limited number of students - not over 10 per class - real study groups prior to team work, admission upon secondary school diploma.
Flexibility. Two, there, four or five-year courses, two-year qualification courses followed by one to three years of specialisation, with these based on the level of qualification students want to acquire.
Three Departments open to the new generations of professionals of the post-industrial world:
ANALYTICAL ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN - to study man and his environment;
COMMUNICATION AND VISUAL DESIGN - to study the theories, techniques and strategies of graphics and advertising;
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN - to study industrial objects and their use.
A "College" at a University level, speaking the language of the new Europe - which could also be why one third of our students come from foreign countries.
A "College" that prepares students to step right into professional life - which could be why most of our students are snapped up by the working world even before completing their course of studies.

ARCHITETTURA ANALITICA ED INTERIOR DESIGN: per studiare l’uomo e il suo ambiente.
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: per studiare gli oggetti di produzione industriale e i loro usi.
COMUNICAZIONE E VISUAL DESIGN: per studiare le teorie, le tecniche e le strategie pubblicitarie e grafiche.
Nato nel 1970, decise di darsi una struttura accademica controcorrente, organizzata alla maniera dei college universitari inglesi e americani.
Ha puntato sul rigore e, nello stesso tempo, sulla flessibilità didattica, sul numero chiuso per ogni gruppo di studenti, su docenti di chiara fama provenienti dal mondo della professione, leader del settore.
Un "College" a livello universitario che parla il linguaggio della nuova Europa. Anche per questo, un terzo degli allievi proviene dall'estero. Viene curato l'apprendimento dell'inglese, lingua chiave per informarsi, lavorare, essere presenti in Rete.
Un "College" che dà agli studenti la possibilità di effettuare stages riconosciuti agli effetti delle frequenze obbligatorie e prepara ad entrare nella vita professionale: gran parte dei suoi allievi è richiesta nel mondo del lavoro ancor prima di terminare gli studi. Già nel primo anno di specializzazione, gli studenti entrano in contatto diretto - su brief o in stage - con Aziende primarie.
Un "College" dotato delle tecnologie della New Economy, cablato con linee ADSL, Intranet e Internet. Gli studenti fanno uso di media digitali per progettare e creare prototipi nel design industriale, dispongono di un'ampia scelta di software e di hardware per realizzare installazioni multimediali interattive. L'impiego di tali tecnologie incoraggia l'esprimersi di quella interdisciplinarietà che è forte componente della didattica del "College".
Dispone inoltre di laboratori di fotografia e modellistica e di una ricca biblioteca, audiovisivi di ogni tipo e "consolle" per l'insegnamento della lingua straniera.
Corsi di aggiornamento e formazione continua sono organizzati per professionisti e aziende.
