Kazakh-American University is one of the leading Higher Educational Institutions of Kazakhstan. Despite of its youth it has its own priorities and peculiarities. Having preserved all the best traditions of classic soviet schooling and combining them with the educational programs of the best American higher educational institutions, KAU gives to its students an opportunity to gain a vast amount of knowledge and develop flexible thinking, that will allow them to become full professionals in their fields and achieve a great success in the dynamic modern world. In the pages of this catalogue you can find detailed information about the structure of the university, its subdivisions, academic programs, conditions of enrollment, routine of educational process, routine of transfer and completion of education in American educational institutions, use of the library, IT technologies, possibilities of professional training and lists of professors and teachers at the university.
KAU provides a seamless transition between educational levels: primary educational phase (kindergarten, primary school: grades 1-4), associated UNESCO school (grades 5-11), college of communication, and undergraduate and postgraduate university. In 2004 the university opened two more campuses, in Astana and Atyrau, which were named, respectively: Central Kazakhstan Campus and Western Kazakhstan Campus. The University has its own traditions, and a formed community of highly qualified teachers and professors. KAU has successfully implemented a credit system of education, which is directed at integration into the world standards of higher educations and presenting the opportunity to our graduates to be competitive in the world market of professionals. Within a short period of time, many areas of the university were reformed, with the goal of enhancing the educational process, scientific research, international activity and the establishment of close, mutually beneficial ties with enterprises. This process of continuous renewal exists to correspond with rapidly changing demands for specialists in various fields. В 2004 году открыты филиалы в гг. Астане и Атырау, соответственно названные Центрально - Казахстанский филиал (ЦКФ КАУ) и Западно-Казахстанский филиал (ЗКФ КАУ). Университет имеет свои традиции, сложившийся коллектив высококвалифицированных педагогов и ученых. КАУ успешно внедрил кредитную систему обучения, которая направлена на интеграцию университета в мировое образовательное пространство и предоставление возможности нашим выпускникам быть конкурентоспособными на мировом рынке профессиональных услуг. За короткий срок в КАУ реформированы многие стороны академической жизни с целью интенсификации учебного процесса, научных исследований, международной деятельности и установления тесной обоюдовыгодной связи с производством.
