Welcome to Foot 2 Afrika Adventures!
Here at Foot 2 Afrika we want you to experience the real Tanzania. We are a small, vibrant, multicultural company and our adventures and projects reflect our company ethos: that fundamentally we are both very interested in what we do and love to immerse ourselves in the Tanzanian culture and heritage.
We are involved in three main aspects of travel here in Tanzania: safaris and outdoor adventures, volunteering and cultural experiences, and hostel accommodation.
Safaris & Trekking
•All those that work in our small company are qualified and have years of experience in their respective fields.
•Our company specializes in smaller groups as we believe in focusing on the individual interests.
•We believe in providing quality adventures that give a better idea of what Tanzania has to offer. We encourage you, while enjoying your safari, to take advantage of all of the wonderful opportunities available to you during your visit, combining safaris with walks, hikes, canoe safaris, cultural tours, giving back to the local community, or wherever else your interests lie.
So whether you want a memorable safari, a unique adventure or to get immersed in the local community we are more than happy to help!
Volunteering / Community links
•We provide accommodation, food, project placements, advice and security for individuals who want to get involved in daily life in Tanzania and offer some of your time and skill to local projects, but want to side step large “Volunteer” organizations.
Accommodation
We run the only “Western Style” hostel in Moshi and provide accommodation for single nights for travelers just passing through, and longer term arrangements for volunteers and groups.
•For larger groups and school/college groups we create cultural links with schools here providing opportunities for groups to study Tanzanian culture and get involved in volunteering here. We provide accommodation, food, security and project placements and can also organised.

As all the Sub-Saharan Tanzanian countries, Tanzania is also badly affected by the epidemics of both poverty and HIV. The number of orphans and street children is growing in every capital city in Tanzania. Efforts have been made by various local organizations to protect these children by offering much-needed education as well as skill-development training. STAETA is joining the efforts been made through providing volunteers. Most of the orphanages, children are aged 1-18 years.
Volunteers mostly teach English language lessons. Volunteers also help the children by organizing games, drawing classes, singing lessons, and even painting sessions. In this project, volunteers can organize any creative, extracurricular activities that the children may enjoy and love doing.
This Tanzania-based volunteer project also provides volunteers the impacting opportunity to work proactively in the orphanage's community and share their love, passion, individual skills, and efforts for the children.
The orphanages provide childcare facilities, basic schooling, housing and meals. Volunteers work from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm. We welcome those with a passion for children without parents or whose parents cannot take care of them.
This program provides participants the chance of life a lifetime to make an impact on the future success of these orphans. Together we will make these poor orphans feel the love, attention and care they need, hence putting smiles on their faces.

Local schools run by individual (private), communities, and government entities works together in many ways to help educate children in Tanzania . At this English-teaching project, volunteers teach English to nurseries, primary and secondary school students between the ages of 6-16. Volunteers may also teach math and/or science. Additional help in drawing lessons, games, various extracurricular activities, and administrative office work may also be expected.
Volunteers teach from 2 -3 hours/day; five or six days a week. Most of the students range in age from 6-13. In Tanzania , each school has its own English teachers who assist our volunteers with teaching methods, as well as offer advice on solving communication barriers, and provide suitable curricula for the classroom.
No previous experience is necessary. You must be 18 and above and must be the type who is very patient, passionate, understanding, and loves children. That is all that you need. The countries and communities are rich with Tanzanian culture, beautiful site seeing, and open-minded, kind, and lovely people who like visitors. The children are very serious to learn -- like many other children in the world -- and like making friends. All of this will make your stay in Tanzania very splendid.

Tanzania is a country with a majority of citizens living below the poverty level without access to the basic necessities of life. Primary healthcare is one area which is tragically lacking among the widely-impoverished Tanzania . People die every day due to many villages simply not having doctors or basic health care facilities such as clinics or hospitals.

Medical Electives
Medical placements are ideally suited to medical students, or volunteers with medical experience, though this is not a requirement.
Duties may involve helping out at the community hospital, joining the mobile medic team on visits to rural communities where they provide medical advice, immunizations, HIV/AIDS and dietary education, or collecting patient information of mothers and babies. You can also directly assist physicians in their research of tropical and infectious diseases.
STAETA medical student program is designed to meet and exceed the elective requirements set by medical schools, and to give you an unforgettable, hands-on insight into medicine in the developing world.
The benefits of choosing STAETA Volunteering for your medical elective include:
A guaranteed hospital placement individually organized by our professional staff in your chosen community.
The security, freedom and lively social atmosphere of living with a STAETA chosen host family.
Expert advice from our highly experienced international team before your departure.
Support from our overseas staff team throughout your placement.
Dental Electives
Your dental elective is about gaining as much experience and insight as possible in the space of a few weeks, and is also an opportunity to explore and enjoy new places. Choosing a Lifelong dentistry elective placement ensures that you will be able to get straight into work with an established dental practice - and have an unforgettable few weeks.
Dentistry students and dentists alike have the opportunity to work in rural and urban healthcare facilities alongside local professionals or with mobile clinics in helping the many who have little resources for effective dental hygiene.
In all of our destinations we have partnerships with dentistry departments in major hospitals and smaller practices that allow us to tailor each individual dentistry elective placement to match your specific requirements. Let us know exactly what you want, and chances are we can arrange it for you.
Our Dental Outreach Projects give you the opportunity to gain clinical practice providing free treatment to village communities in Tanzania who otherwise have no access to dental care.
Placements are totally flexible, allowing you to start and finish exactly when you want to, and we can usually organize placements at very short notice. Our experienced staff team are always happy to answer any questions you have, or just to chat about destinations and opportunities for your elective, whether or not you end up joining one of our programmes.
Nursing Electives
Nursing students or trained nurses will enjoy the unforgettable experience of volunteering or interning at a medical facility in the developing world.

From Zanzibar on the coast, to the fabulous bush scenery near Arusha, there is no better way to experience Africa in safe and happy surroundings.
This is by far our biggest programme with more volunteers, more locations and a wider range of opportunities than any other country. We offer two main types of programme:
Teaching children (primary and secondary schools) and adults in the Arusha region - in the shadows of Mt Meru - as well as other wonderful programs with the Massai in Longido, on the coast at Pangani and in the beautiful Pare Mountains.
Business development in Arusha where volunteers can help with small businesses and micro-finance alongside the Tanzania Capital Boosting Association (TCBA) and assist HIV / AIDS victims with the MondoChallenge HIV Grant Programme (HOPE Trust fund in Ngaramtoni and MAISHA Trust fund in Moshi)....
