Study in Pieta, Malta
The overlooked island of Malta has something to offer every passerby, and when it comes to the town of Pieta, there’s never a disappointed visitor! Also, known as Tal-Pieta, this small urban area along the coast is centered around Malta’s most important hospital. Not only do the natives share the sense of care and urgency as their health care providers, but also the city allows students from across the world to study advanced, higher education topics within its boundaries.Tal-Pieta is often dwarfed in comparison to its neighbors, the cities of Valletta and Floriana. However, this tiny town within Malta is well known for housing some of the island’s most notable post-secondary campuses. Though only two main institutions can be found within the town’s limits, even more can be found in the surrounding area and cities. St. Augustine’s College and a medical school from the University of Malta are the two places for higher and further education in this area. Students would have to migrate further outward across the island of Malta to discover more and varying higher education institutions.
Pieta is home to high-rated seafood restaurants guaranteed to deliver freshly caught cuisine. Students can enjoy this Italian taste while lounging on one of island’s coastal areas. There are several historic sites to keep a student’s attention, such as a seventeenth-century cathedral and World War I veteran cemeteries. Maltese citizens and travelers alike enjoy walking tours, sailing and listening to beautiful Italian and international music produced by the cities bands and singers.
Other considerations for students wishing to study in Tal-Pieta include:
- Majority of courses taught in English and Italian.
- Extremely limited educational options within Tal-Pieta.
Major Fields of Study in Pieta
Since there are only two places for higher education in Tal-Pieta, it is fairly easy to narrow down which subjects are the most representative of the city. However, most of the courses at St. Augustine’s must be discounted, as they are only offered to secondary school students. In fact, St. Augustine’s College only caters to students before a certain age and will not offer schooling to anyone outside these limitations. As a result, it is primarily the subjects at the medical school that make up Pieta’s studies:
- Medicine
- Dentistry
- Surgery
There also may be an office of the ITIS Malta Tourism Institute located in the area, but it will not offer any courses or training programs to students.
Schools of Pieta
