Most students do not have a roommate when they apply for housing, but you may request a particular roommate and we will attempt to fill your request. Cornell has a 2-year residential requirement for our first-year and second-year students, including a required meal plan.

The best traditional dorms are located on North Campus and West Campus. On North Campus, Court Kay Bauer and Mews, as well as the newer buildings (e.g. Ganędagǫ and Toni Morrison Hall), are all great options.
