Does FLVS give you a computer?

All laptops are provided to students to support their academic performance and completion of class assignments. The program limit is set as a once-per-lifetime laptop per student.

Can FLVS detect cheating?

FLVS instructors utilize technologies to check for authenticity. Copying, knowingly allowing others to copy from you, and/or misusing the internet content could result in removal from your course. Academic integrity is the cornerstone of learning at FLVS.

Do you need a computer for FLVS?

We recommend students have a Windows or Mac based computer available to complete coursework in the event that your selected mobile device does not meet the needs of the course. Some courses may have different or additional requirements to the one listed on this page.

What is the age limit for FLVS Flex?

Students can enroll through age 19 but must complete their courses before age 21.

What is the 14-day grace period for FLVS?

Refund Policy Following placement and activation in a course, the student has a 14-day grace period during which he or she may withdraw from the course and receive a full refund.

Does FLVS have prom?

While Florida Virtual School doesn't host a prom, they do host an annual Grad Bash for their seniors. This year it was at Universal Studios. As described on their website, “Grad Bash is an exclusive event for high school seniors held at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Can you quit FLVS?

If a classroom has not been assigned yet, the course can be dropped from your child's dashboard. Once a classroom is assigned, you will need to call or email the assigned teacher to request withdrawal.

Is FLVS considered homeschool?

FLVS Flex allows students to take one or more online courses anytime during the year. It is open to homeschool students who want to customize their own schedule and curriculum or traditional students who take the majority of their courses at a public or private school.

Can you skip assignments on FLVS?

Any assignment exemption will appear with an “ex” in your child's gradebook. Step 4: The Instructional Leader/Assistant Principal will respond with approval that covers the lesson content that your child is now able to skip.

Can online schools tell if you cheat?

With the right procedures in place, any online exam can detect cheating. Authentication measures, web monitoring, data forensics, and proctoring (just to name a few) all make it hard for test takers to get away with ever cheating on your test.

Is it wrong to cheat in online school?

But, most of all, if you cheat in an online class and get caught, there are risks. First, your teacher may fail you for the assignment, which can hurt your overall grade. Secondly, you could fail the entire course and have to retake it.

Does FLVS Flex provide a computer?

Laptop Learner Program. The Laptop Learner Program is available to FLVS Full Time or FLEX students who have been enrolled in FLVS Full Time or FLEX for at least one year and, due to financial hardship, do not have a laptop to support their academic performance.

What is a passing grade for FLVS?

Students must earn a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale for all cohort years and pass statewide, standardized assessments unless a waiver of assessment results is granted by the IEP team for students with disabilities.

Does FLVS give you a diploma?

FLVS Full Time offers diplomas for students who graduate from our full-time public school. Find more information about this option here. FLVS Flex does not currently grant a diploma. Instead, credits are transferred back to the student's local school to count towards their graduation requirement.
