If you need to create an account, get your class code from your teacher and go to https://www.commonlit.org/en/enroll. Enter your class code. Then you will be prompted to enter a first and last name and password. You have the option to add an email address to your account.

Can parents use CommonLit?

Can I create an account on CommonLit? Parents cannot currently sign up for a CommonLit account, but they can browse many of the Library resources and learn about other CommonLit offerings without an account.

How do I access CommonLit?

To view their data, students can click on the My Performance tab when logged into their CommonLit account. From there, they will be able to see their Overall Score, Multiple Choice % Correct, and Short Answer Average (0-4).

Does CommonLit save your work?

CommonLit strongly suggests students complete their assessments within one 45-60 minute session for test validity purposes. However, if students need to resume their assessments at a later point, CommonLit does save their answers and they can return to complete their assessment at any time.

Is CommonLit an online database?

Students using MLA citations should treat CommonLit as an online anthology or database. Students should reference our credit line beneath texts for information provided by the text's copyright holder on the original publication of the text, such as source, original publisher, and original publication date.

What can teachers see on CommonLit?

On an assessment's Analyze Data page, you will see your students' scaled scores, percent correct, and multiple-choice percentages as well as a percentile ranking for how they did compared to other students in their grade who took the same grade-level assessment. You will see them grouped by percentile and scaled score.
