FLVS courses are designed for semester-based terms. Since time is not a constant in our online courses, you will have flexibility of pace and can discuss details with your teacher upon activation in the course.

How does FLVS full time work?

FLVS Full Time is a public school that allows students to take all classes online (a total of six courses) and follow the standard school year. Do you have to do assignments in order on FLVS?

Is Florida Virtual School difficult?

There isn't much academic pressure, honestly. Most classes require you to turn in 3–5 assignments a week, so you stay on pace. The classes are actually quite easy, if you ask me.

How fast can you complete FLVS?

How long does the course take to complete? Students can work at their own pace but will need to be in the course at least 14 days from their first assignment. Typical students complete the course in 6-8 weeks working approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Does FLVS have summer?

With year-round, 24/7 access, students complete courses when and where they want—at home from the comfort of home, during a free period at school, or while traveling over summer break.

Can I do FLVS over the summer?

Students may enroll in courses throughout the year. Public school students who successfully completed a grade level and were promoted may not enroll in FLVS courses in the summer if the student will be enrolled in the same courses in the school of record the following fall.

Does FLVS have prom?

While Florida Virtual School doesn't host a prom, they do host an annual Grad Bash for their seniors. This year it was at Universal Studios. As described on their website, “Grad Bash is an exclusive event for high school seniors held at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Can FLVS detect cheating?

A student who does not complete and pass every discussion-based assessment in the course is ineligible for course credit. Additional discussions may be conducted randomly throughout the course to assess mastery of content and authenticity of student work.

How fast can you finish hope on FLVS?

HOPE is a two-segment course and, per NCAA regulations, you must spend at least 21 days in each segment. That means the soonest you can finish the entire HOPE course is 42 days from your start date. Can you skip assignments on FLVS?

Any assignment exemption will appear with an “ex” in your child's gradebook. Step 4: The Instructional Leader/Assistant Principal will respond with approval that covers the lesson content that your child is now able to skip.

Students enrolling into the local public school or transitioning into Florida Virtual School Full Time will be held accountable for all district graduation requirements and will no longer be considered a homeschool student.
