Why am I so bad at Algebra but good at geometry?

I have noticed that often students who struggle with Algebra find Geometry more intuitive, and students who found Algebra easy struggle more with geometry. This is by no means a universal, but it is at least a noticable trend. It probably is related to how you process visual information.

Why do I struggle with algebra?

Algebra is overwhelming for many students because it's the first math class they take where they must wrestle with variables, abstract concepts, and creative problem solving. And there's often not enough done in the classroom to connect Algebra to their everyday lives and explain why it's worth understanding.

Do I have dyscalculia or am I just bad at math?

Dyscalculic learners may have difficulty understanding simple number concepts, lack an intuitive grasp of numbers, and have problems learning number facts and procedures. Even if they produce a correct answer or use a correct method, they may do so mechanically and without confidence (DfES, 2001, p.

Why do I not like geometry?

Geometry is not interactive:

Many subjects, like Language Arts, Writing, and even Science can be very exciting for students because they get to actively take part in the learning process. GEOMETRY may seem boring to them because they have to memorize and follow sets of rules, many of which do not have exceptions.
