I've found Tufts to be very competitive and a good majority of the students are social climbers, so it's hard to judge someones intentions when you're getting to know them. On the other hand, the campus is lovely and most of the people I have talked to are very passionate about life.

Arts and Sciences is hard to get into. Engineering is very hard to get into, especially since it is ABET-certified, intimate, and well-funded. Tufts tends to pick the applicant who not only has a high GPA and test scores but also the person who is an out of the box thinker.
