Study, Work or Volunteer in China

Famously known as the “Red Dragon of the East”, China has one of the world’s oldest civilizations. Its history is very much defined by the grandeur of each dynasty that contributed remarkable and edifying modernization as well as the nation’s continuous pursuit to improve the way of living of its every citizen.

The record of China dates back as far as the Prehistoric Era as supported with the discovery of the “Peking Man”, the dynastic periods that begun with the Xia until the Qing. At the start of the 19th century, historical personalities like Chiang Kai-shek and Mao Zedong emerged to become some of the nation’s unforgettable conquerors.

With an economy of second largest in the world next to the United States, China is a superpower every nation is now aware of. The momentum experienced is now believed to have caused its economy to overheat. The government has committed to a “Three Step Development Strategy” that started in 1987 and shall finish by 2050 with the main goal of putting China as a medium-sized developed country.

China may achieved its full potentials few decades from now in terms of economic and technological advancements but one thing the Chinese will keep in their hands is their rich culture. Their philosophy, arts, literature, music, spiritual beliefs and other traditions remain intact over the centuries despite every turn of event and reconstruction it has experienced.

Every sector of the nation from its economy, public health, education, local services, employment, manufacturing, to public sector have experienced tremendous improvements over the decades contributing to China’s non-stop development. As the host to the 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing and the rest of the country will again share the spotlight and prove to the world what they have achieved.
